According to a recent poll, the majority of Americans don't give plug-in hybrids enough credit. It's likely that people see an electric cord plugging in to a car, and immediately shrug it off.
"Electric car," they say, "Impractical, expensive, nowhere to charge it, not enough range."
The 2017 Ford Fusion Energi may actually be the ideal sedan for Corbin, London, Keavy, Williamsburg, and Manchester area drivers. If you work in town, chances are you don't drive more than 20 miles in a day.
Simply plug in the Fusion Energi to an outlet overnight (no need for a specialized charging station), and in the morning you have an estimated 21 miles of electric driving range. That means no stopping at the gas station, no watching fuel prices rise and fall, no more strategizing on where to get the best deals. Who needs gasoline? Not you!
"That's all well and good," you think, "but Kentucky is a big, rural state. A 21-mile range doesn't cut it."
The Fusion Energi is a plug-in hybrid. Once the battery charge runs low, its gasoline engine kicks in, giving you an additional 588 miles of driving range, at an EPA-estimated rating of 43 mpg city/41 mpg highway. Its combined range is estimated up to 610 miles on a single battery charge, and a single, 14-gallon tank of gas.
